Jian Cao Elected to National Academy of Engineering

The National Academy of Engineering announced Jian Cao, Cardiss Collines Professor of Mechanical Engineering, as one of its newest members earlier this month.  The honor, considered one of the most prestigious in the field, recognizes her work “pioneering a flexible sheet forming system and for leadership in manufacturing” over a research career that has produced numerous advancements in both fundamental and applied problems.  Cao is one of only 133 inductees to the Academy this year.  Learn more about the award, her work, and her larger impact on the Northwestern and research communities here.
