Global Engineering Trek Explores Critical Minerals Supply Chain in Chile
CESR launched its inaugural Global Engineering Trek in Energy Storage & Critical Minerals on September 7th, 2023, sending a group of 9 students to sites throughout Chile. As one of the world's largest lithium and copper producers, Chile is at the heart of global efforts to build green energy generation and storage systems. Led by CESR Director Jennifer Dunn, students meet with mining and policy experts, tour facilities, and delve into Chilean culture over the course of the ten-day trip.
This program is undertaken in partnership with McCormick Global Initiatives' Global Engineering Treks Initiative, and is generously supported in part by the Buffett Institute for Global Affairs.
